Fashion Forward

Hello everyone! Yes, it's finally Sunday. The end of a very long week has come at last, so pour a hot cup of coffee, sit down, and relax with this life-changing information I'm about to reveal. You may have guessed correctly that this weeks topic is one I feel very passionately about: Fashion. No matter the age, gender, or culture, I feel as though fashion is a language we all understand. Designer Rachel Zoe once said, "Fashion is a way to say who you are without having to speak". The way you dress/present yourself in public can say a lot about the kind of person you are, your confidence level, and personality type. If there's one thing I've discovered about the fashion industry, it's that there are no rules or definitive answers to what is considered fashionable or not. Each and every one of us has our own individual style, so who am I to tell someone the way they dress is unattractive without insulting their persona? Today, I am here simply to recognize trends & popular styles amongst designers from New York, London, Milan, and Paris' fashion weeks. After doing much research for all of you, here is a list I've compiled of runway trends to take notice of this upcoming spring.

1. STATEMENT STRIPES
Move over basic black and white stripes, colorful is in! Stripes may feel like a blast from the past, but in all actuality, they're quite the opposite. This spring, be bold and beautiful in a color blocking masterpiece! Whether you're sporting a dress, blouse, or funky trousers, stripes enhance any outfit. In every color, shape, size, and form (think: both broad bands and skinny hypnotic stripes) this unique pattern is sure to hit markets this spring.

2. RUFFLES

Ruffles - something that took me by surprise when I was first introduced. Like many others, I had the notion they were catered towards adorable toddlers & newborns....wrong! For a soft, feminine vibe, try a ruffle piece this Spring. In my opinion, the bigger the better! Don't apologize for your creative/cutesy attitude, own those flowy fabrics!

3. EMBROIDERD DENIM

I am LIVING for this throwback trend. Jeans have been a staple in everyday dress for years now, so why not add a little spin on them? Combining two of my favorite qualities, comfortablility and uniqueness, embroidered jeans are quickly becoming a must-have in every young female's wardrobe. Dress these pants up with heels or down with sneakers to complete a picture perfect spring ensemble.

4. MIX & MATCH

Whoever said 'never wear more than one pattern in a single outfit' has never seen the wonders of modern fashion. This season, upgrade any look by adding a statement piece/pattern of epic proportions that is certain to get heads turning. Say goodbye to simple styles, and hello to optical illusions plastered across your body.

5. CHIC ATHLEISURE

Thank god, a trend that couldn't have come soon enough. "Athleisure" combines athletic wear and comfortable fabrics to keep you feeling relaxed, yet stylish throughout the day. Designers this year have taken this concept to the next level by dressing up these looks with accessories, heels, bags, and various other formal accents. Keep an eye out for these glamorous trackies, for this trend hints at a limited survival time.
